How the Coin Flip Works

Each flip uses the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues) to pick heads or tails with exactly 50/50 probability. There's no bias, no pattern, no rigging — every flip is truly independent.

Why Use a Virtual Coin?

You don't always have a coin handy, and physical coins can actually be slightly biased depending on which side is heavier. A virtual coin is mathematically fair every time — perfect for settling decisions, picking teams, or running probability experiments.

FAQ

Is this truly random?

Yes. It uses crypto.getRandomValues, which is secure enough for cryptography. No software RNG seeded from the clock here.

Can I flip more than once at a time?

Yes — set the count up to 1,000. The stats panel shows the cumulative running total.

Why don't 50 flips show exactly 25 heads?

Random doesn't mean even. With small samples you'll often see streaks. The ratio gets closer to 50% the more you flip.

Does it work offline?

After the page loads, yes. No server calls happen during flipping.

Is anything saved?

No. Stats reset when you reload the page.
