Color Picker & Eyedropper
Pick colors from images or your screen. Get HEX, RGB, HSL, and CMYK values instantly.
How to Use the Color Picker
Our free color picker makes it easy to extract colors from images and your screen. Start by uploading an image using the file input, then click anywhere on the image to pick a color. You'll instantly see the color displayed as a large swatch along with its values in HEX, RGB, HSL, and CMYK formats. Each format has a copy button for quick clipboard access. The magnifier feature helps you pick precise colors by showing a zoomed-in circle around your cursor as you hover.
Pick Colors from Images
Upload any image file (JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, WebP) to your computer or device, and our color picker will display it on your screen. Move your mouse over the image to see the magnifier in action—it shows a 5x zoomed preview of the pixel under your cursor. Click anywhere on the image to pick that exact color. Your image is processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded to any server, ensuring complete privacy.
EyeDropper API — Pick from Your Screen
If your browser supports the EyeDropper API, you'll see a "Pick from Screen" button. This allows you to sample colors directly from any open window on your computer—including web pages, design software, videos, and more. This feature is supported on Chrome, Edge, and Opera. The picker activates for a few seconds, allowing you to click on any color on your entire screen.
Color Format Guide
HEX: Hexadecimal color codes (e.g., #e85d3a) are the most common format on the web and work in CSS, HTML, and design tools.
RGB: Red, Green, Blue values (0-255 each) define colors by light intensity. Format: rgb(r, g, b). Used widely in web and digital design.
HSL: Hue (0-360°), Saturation (0-100%), Lightness (0-100%). More intuitive for designers than RGB. Format: hsl(h, s%, l%).
CMYK: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key (Black) percentages. Essential for print design and professional printing workflows.
Color History
As you pick colors, they appear in your color history at the bottom of the tool. The history keeps your last 20 picked colors as small swatches. Click on any swatch in your history to restore that color and update all the color values. This makes it easy to go back to colors you've already selected without having to re-pick them.
